Rounds magazine, published online at dvmbroadcast.com, is a publication dedicated to celebrating excellence across the healthcare and animal-welfare worlds. Its editorial mission is simple and ambitious: to highlight the best of the best - the leading universities, humane organizations, and top companies that serve physicians, veterinarians, and healthcare professionals of every kind.
The magazine was founded by Steven L. May, CVJ, VRCE, EMT (ret.), who serves as its founder and publisher. May launched Rounds to focus squarely on elite organizations and business entities — the institutions and enterprises setting the standard in their fields. It is a publication of a highly unique kind, and by its own account the first of its kind: rather than chasing clinical headlines or industry news, Rounds is built as a showcase for excellence itself.
That focus gives the magazine a distinct character. Where much of the trade press reports on technique or breaking developments, Rounds trains its attention on the organizations doing the work that moves medicine and animal welfare forward. Featured names have included United Spay Alliance, myVETgroup, Lincoln Memorial University and Humane Colorado - a snapshot of the veterinary practices, nonprofit advocates, and mission-driven groups the publication champions.
What sets Rounds apart is its open, application-based approach to recognition. Universities, businesses that support the healthcare industries, and organizations of all kinds can apply to be featured. This makes the magazine both a recognition platform for those it spotlights and a discovery tool for the professionals who read it - connecting readers to the universities educating the next generation, the humane organizations protecting animals and the public, and the companies whose products and services keep practices and hospitals running.
For physicians, veterinarians, and the broader healthcare community, Rounds offers something genuinely new: a single place to discover the people and partners worth knowing, and a venue for the best organizations to be seen. It is, in short, a must-read for anyone who wants to know who is doing it best.
